A Death Cafe is not a place for coaching or advice

A Death Cafe is not a place for coaching or advice but simply an opportunity to listen and share, thus increasing our awareness of our relationship with death.

Talking about death in an open and vulnerable way and sharing uncomfortable things in a safe space allows for greater understanding of our feelings, fears and wishes. There is no agenda, so we will let the conversations unfold.

We come together with no judgment, simply in the recognition that death and dying remain one of our biggest conversational taboos.

Jennie is an experienced facilitator and guide. She has experience in reflective practices, teaching meditation retreats, tai chi and qi-gong.

Don't just make a seating plan for your wedding breakfast or sit-down dinner. Make your friends and family feel super special and valued by creating a ceremony seating plan too.

Rather than choosing the “pick a seat, not a side” catch-all, which can make guests feel like you've given no thought to where they might like to sit during the ceremony.

Name tags - along with tissues, confetti or hand fans for those destination weddings - can make your family and friends truly know just how much you want them to have the best seats in the house on your day.

There are various reasons why someone might choose to have a celebrant instead of a vicar, priest or other religious leader to take their funeral service.

The main reason is people want more flexibility and personalisation in their ceremony, as celebrants like myself, will work with families to create a unique and bespoke ceremony that reflects their loved ones values, beliefs and personality.

You can still have hymns and prayers during a celebrant led funeral if you wish.

Even if your family member did not belong to a particular religious denomination they may still wish to have religious elements to their service. All these can be incorporated by a celebrant.

Celebrants can also perform ceremonies in a wider range of locations, such as outdoors or at non-traditional venues. Giving you and your family, far greater choice when it comes to marking life's important moments.

A funeral celebrant is a person who leads and officiates at the crematorium or cemetery chapel. We work closely with the deceased's family to create a personalised and meaningful funeral ceremony that reflects the life and values of the person who passed away.

Funeral celebrants like myself are highly trained experts and professionals. We are skilled at facilitating and leading services, acting compassionately in your time of need.

I am often called upon to lead non-religious or interfaith funerals or to work with families who do not have a religious affiliation or do not want a traditional religious funeral service.

My goal is to help families create a respectful, dignified, and meaningful ceremony for both the deceased and their loved ones.
